#America’s Shelby Rogers causes first shockwave of the #Australian Open

American Shelby Rogers caused the first major upset at the 2017 Australian Open by securing the biggest win of her career to date, defeating world number 4 Simona Halep in straight sets 6-3 6-1 on Rod Laver Arena.

The number 49 ranked Rogers, showed considerable poise as she approached the biggest victory of her career. It is not sure if Halep was suffering from sort of injury but it was not apparent and she showed no signs of any ailment. It seems that Halep did not have it on this day and no answer for the steady Rogers, who has had a nice beginning to her year so far down under.

One can only hope and see if she takes this momentum with her through-out the rest of the tournament and the 2017.
